The red and blue off set the relative lack of color on the centerplate, and the use of TV network logos emphasize the unique stipulation of the belt only being defended on TV. The NWA belts made excellent use of color, and this is true of the side plates. Despite the embellishments, itвЂ™s a clean looking center plate design вЂ“ just enough to impress the eyes. The center plate draws your eyes with the splashes of red to the center plate, and your eyes are drawn to the engravings of cameras, flourishes, the eagle, and a wrestling ring. I love the look of the classic NWA belts, and the Television Championship is one of my favorites. Some people loathe this belt (and one other on my list). The NWA Television Championship В©National Wrestling AllianceДonвЂ™t even me for this one. In the meantime, letвЂ™s go from the newest belt to an old favorite. In fact, it reminds me of the belt that is at the top of my listД«ut weвЂ™ll get to that. ItвЂ™s flashy without out being gaudy, somehow old school and modern вЂ“ a perfect prize for a world champion. It combines modern styling with throwback details that harken back to the Big Gold Belt, like a two-tone design with leaf flourishes and a name plate. The five-plate design is intricate, with a regal center plate and 3-D embellishments and zirconia throughout the five plates. ItвЂ™s the newest title on this list, but AEW hit it out the park with this first edition of their world championship. These belts that represent the pinnacle of an industry that is essentially a faux sport have impressed me more than those representing the champions of real sports вЂ“ only the World Series trophy and the Stanley Cup (the most beautiful prize in sports history) seem regal enough to be held by the best. Ever since I got back into wrestling in the early 1990вЂ™s the design of title belts has always fascinated me.
